Hi All,

Greetings for the day!!! Good news for SharePoint publishers / authors / editors.

Today sharing future update related to SharePoint.

Future Update – Collaborate on SharePoint Pages and News with coauthoring.

Before this Future Update

  • Only one author can edit a page or news at the same time.
  • While an author is editing a page, no other user can edit until the author publishes or saves the draft.

Details

  • It is now possible that multiple authors can edit the SharePoint page or news at the same time.
  • The ability for multiple authors to edit the same Page at the same time, without having to take turns.
  • Authors can see real-time changes made by others as they happen in Pages, sections and web parts.

Demo

  • Here, we are using two users, those will edit the same page.
  • Login with these two users to same site – https://knowledgejunction1.sharepoint.com/sites/LearningPortal
    • User 1 : Prasham Sabadra – prasham@knowledgejunction1.onmicrosoft.com
    • User 2 : Shweta Parakh – KnowledgeJunction@knowledgejunction1.onmicrosoft.com

  • Next step is – User 1 is editing the home page as

  • Next step – At the same time (while User 1 is editing the page), let User 2 start editing the same page as

  • From above image, please note the color of profile icons. Both are marked with a pink circle. This indicates both users are editing the page at the same time.
  • If we will navigate to User 1 account, we will see there details like as in image below.

  • On User 1 page, we will also see an update from User 2 changes. Real time updates.
