Consistency: One of the key Ingredient of success formula
This is my first motivational article apart from technical articles. Till the day I always written technical articles. In this article I want to highlight the importance of consistency to achieve what we want, to succeed.
WE ARE WHAT WE CONSISTENTLY DO. EXCELLENCE IS THEREFORE NOT AN ACT, BUT A HABIT – Aristotle.
Reason behind writing this article is, in last month I decided to give my one certification exam and I started studying from first week of Oct. First few days went well, completed few chapters from reference book.
Suddenly for few days my office work load increased little bit and it took time than usual. I couldn’t continue my exam study in those days. Then in coming days, my kids were not well and I spent most of the time with them. In those days also I couldn’t study. On weekends we went outside, movie, lunch / dinner and so on. In this way by month end I couldn’t complete the exam study and then I postponed my exam.
Since I postponed my exam, I am not feeling well and just thinking why this happen. Exam study required only couple of hours per day. But I couldn’t maintain consistency in studying for couple of hours as well. I thought was I really so busy? Then I started recalling days how I spent. I realized that I couldn’t complete study since I was inconsistent. Even though I have a goal that by month end I need to give exam, I have all resources available with me. Only thing is I am not consistent in my study.
Then I realize that consistency is one of the key ingredient of success. If I could have studied only couple of hours daily, I could have given my exam.
SUCCESS ISN’T ALWAYS ABOUT ‘GREATNESS’, IT’S ABOUT CONSISTENCY. CONSISTENT, HARD WORK GAINS SUCCESS. – Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson
We have many real life examples which shows the importance of consistency in success.
Sachin Tendulkar, a run machine, top batsman in word, till today nobody could break his records yet, he could make such huge amount of runs only because he had consistency in making runs. He was practicing continuously.
Great Thomas Edison an American investor and business man, had so many unsuccessful experiments while inventing light bulb. He was consistent in his invention and never gave up unless and until he reached his goal.
For any business or service, if service provider won’t provide good service consistently, profit for business will decrease or competitor will get an advantage without any effort.
Another good example is of health, in this world everybody wants to be fit or healthy but still we have very high percentage population are suffering from some or other health issue, because lack of exercises, wrong food habits. For being fit, healthy and smart forever requires continuous efforts, consistency in doing exercises and eating healthy food habits.
Consistency develops discipline within us.
As you are consistent you are more successful. Chances of your success is very high. Its directly proportional relation – More consistent you are, more successful you are.
Finally, I would say be consistent whatever you do, this is continuous process to reach our goals / to achieve success. LIFE is nothing but setting goals and achieving them.
IF YOU ARE PERSISTENT YOU WILL GET IT, IF YOU ARE CONSISTENT YOU WILL KEEP IT
