M365 – SharePoint Online – Update for Jan 2020 month – Page History is available from Page Details section

Hi All,
Today new change for SharePoint but important one so thought to share 🙂 This change is more important for the Content Editors / News Creators. This change is also important for maintenance team to resolve the pages related issue.
Now in “Page details” section/bar of the modern page we can see the “Version History” option as

If we click on “Version history” link, “Version history” panel will open as shown in below figure-Fig2.

On “Version history” panel it shows various options like
- Current published version of the page
- Changes between current and previous version
- All previously published versions
- Author who have published the page
- At what date given version of page is published
Also we could select particular version, click on 3 dots at right hand side, we will get various options as shown in below figure Fig3. We could Unpublish current version, compare with selected version.

We could also see changes made between two publish version as shown in below figure Fig4. Here if we see, custom SPFX component is added in later version. This is really very good feature.

We could have delete, restore versions also available from more options as shown in below figure Fig5

We have “Highlight changes on the page” option also available. So when we see the changes between two published versions, we will see highlighted changes on the page. Please have a look at below figure Fig6.

I would say this is very nice feature Microsoft released. Please explore and suggest to content editors in your organization 🙂
