Microsoft 365 admin center – MAJOR UPDATE – Admins can no longer receive user passwords in email as of August 30, 2024

Today sharing one more MAJOR UPDATE related to RESET PASSWORD.
MAJOR UPDATE : Microsoft 365 admin center: Admins can no longer receive user passwords in email as of August 30, 2024
Background
- Currently when admin resets password for user, there is an option to send username and password through email. option – “Email the sign info to me” as shown in below image

- As admin “Reset Password” they receives an email as shown in image below

Details:
- Starting August 30, 2024, the ‘Send password in email‘ feature will be retired from the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- Microsoft recommends using the new Print option in the Microsoft admin center to save the user account details and share them in a secure manner with users.
- Admins will no longer be able to receive usernames and passwords in email after this change is implemented.
