Microsoft Teams – Teams administration – How to  initiate or stop channel hiding

Today small article but sharing important setting for Teams channels.

Microsoft recently added new feature to Teams channels – automatically detecting and hiding inactive channels.

Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 325780 – Microsoft Teams: Hiding of inactive channels

As a teams user, we can start or stop the channel hiding.

Steps to initiate or stop the channel hiding

• Navigate to teams
  • Either teams web – https://teams.microsoft.com/v2/
  • OR Teams desktop client.
• Here I am using Teams Desktop client.
• As we are in Teams Desktop client.

• Click on three dots “…” on right top corner, to open the Settings section as shown in above fig.
• We will have menu appears as shown in below fig.

• Click on “Settings” menu choice.
• As we click on “Settings” menu choice.
• Settings pane appears as shown in below fig.

• Scroll down to General Settings.
• Last setting is “Hide inactive channels“
• As per your preference make it On or Off.
