Security Breach
- Any attack that results in someone gaining unauthorized access to devices, services or networks is considered a security breach.
Script Kiddie
- Type of hacker.
- Hackers who uses pre-made tools and scripts to attack.
- These hackers don’t have much experience.
SOC – Security Operation Center
- The SOC is centralized function within an organization.
- SOC involves peoples (employee of our organization) processes and technology to continuously monitor and improve an organization’s security posture.
- This involves preventing, detecting, analyzing and responding to Cybersecurity incidents.
Social Engineering Attacks
- These attacks exploits human psychology to deceive individuals into divulging confidential information or performing actions that compromise security.
- Some techniques like
- Phishing, Whaling, Smishing and Vishing
SSH
- Secure shell.
- Allows us to open command prompt on local machine or remote machine and allows us to run remote commands.
- Uses port 22.
SSO
- Authentication process that allows users to log into various systems, networks, or applications using single identifier.
- SSO only requires the user log in once, granting them access to multiple systems without needing to re-enter their credentials.
State-sponsored Hacker
- A hacker who works for the government
- These hackers are employed to carry out activities related to cyber-espionage or cyber-attacks.
