Teams administration – Step-by-Step Guide to Emailing Teams Channels

Today I’ll discuss and demo a small feature related to Teams channels.

Feature – How to send emails to Teams channel

Details

• To send email to Teams channel we need channel email address.
• Here I have
  • Team – “LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL”
  • Channel – “LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL”

Get the Teams Channel Email address

• Navigate to any Teams channel to which we need to send an email.
• Here I am using Teams Desktop client.

• Select the channel and click on “More options” (“…”) as shown in snap above (fig 1)
• As we click on “More options” (“…”)“, pane with various links will open

• In “More options” (“…”), pane, we will have an option / link – “Get email address“.
• Click on link “Get email address“.
• “Get email address” dialog will appear, as shown in snap below. (fig 3)

• On “Get email address” dialog, we have the channel email address specifies as shown in snap above.
• Copy the email address.

Send email to channel

• Navigate to Outlook to send email to channel

• Draft an email and send.

• As email SUCCESSFULLY sent to Teams channel “LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL”. We will get it as post in channel as shown in image below.
