Microsoft Teams administration – Enable Email Sending to Microsoft Teams Channels

Today discussing small Teams feature. How to allow/enable or disable users to send an emails to Teams channels.

Details

• To send an email to a channel in Teams, we use the channel email address.
• To send an email to a channel, Team administrator need to turn on the setting in Team admin center. That setting is “Users can send emails to a channel email address“.

Steps to enable the setting “Users can send emails to a channel email address” in Teams admin center

• Navigate to Microsoft Teams admin center – https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/

• As we navigate to Microsoft Teams admin center, we will be on Overview page as

• From left pane from Teams admin center, please click on “Settings & policies” link.
• On click of “Settings & policies” link, we will be redirected to Teams “Settings & policies” page – https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/one-policy/settings
• “Settings & policies” page

• As shown in above fig, expand the section “Teams & channels (4)“
• From the section “Teams & channels (4)“, click on “Teams” link
• As we click on “Teams” link, we will be redirected to “Teams settings” page – https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/one-policy/settings/teams-channels

• Scroll down the “Teams settings” page bit – to the section “Email integration“

• In “Email integration” section we have a setting “Users can send emails to a channel email address“
• “Users can send emails to a channel email address” settings allows us to enable/disable the users to send an email to Teams channel.
