Azure – Not able to connect to the Migrated VM

Hello Friends,

In my last article we have discussed, how to migrated an Azure VM from one region to another region. In that article, I have also described with figures, how to migrate a VM. After migration/Failover the VM , when I try to connect the VM or try to use the serial Console from portal, we face an issue and it does not allow us to connect the VM.

Then we verified all NSG rules and other firewall rules but everything was in correct place. One of our team member suggested the following approach, just to try once.

If we go to the VM from Azure portal, we can see ,Azure allow us to Redeploy the the selected VM. The option is available under ” Support + Troubleshooting ” section as shown in the following figure.

It will take couple of minutes to Redeploy the VM. We can connect the VM again, once we got successful notification . In our case it helps and we ware able to access the VM and able to connect it.

I hope this Azure Site Recovery series give you some basic idea about the Failover activity.
