Microsoft Teams: New Feature – Multi-Window Chat feature – Rolling out

Today sharing small news from Microsoft related to Microsoft Teams 🙂 Very useful features Microsoft rolling out related to Microsoft Teams enabling multi-window chat. Have a look once 🙂
Multi-window chat feature enables users to have chat conversations in multiple windows with multiple colleagues at the same time. This allows kind of multi tasking 🙂 Improving efficiency.
This feature allows user to pop out their chat conversation window into separate windows.
How the users pop-out chat conversations windows: There are multiple ways from where user can pop out there chat conversation windows as
- Double-click on a conversation in the chat list.
- Click “Pop out chat” menu item from the context menu for a chat in the chat list as in below figure

- Click the ‘pop out’ button in the top-right corner of the chat header.

- Use the slash command /pop name.
- Double-click on an avatar picture
- Hover over a chat in the chat list and click on the ‘pop out’ button
Availability of this feature in Team clients: This feature is currently rolled-out only for Windows client. In up coming weeks support for Mac and Linux client will be provided.
Any action needs to take: From admin perspective no further actions need to be taken. This feature is enabled by default. May be organizations need to update the training material / documentation for the users.
Roll-out duration: This roll-out is started for all customers in early April. Expected to complete by end of May.
