Microsoft Teams : New features – Additional New Power Automate triggers for Teams and demo – creating simple Power Automate for Team

Hi All,

  • Additional Power Automate triggers for Teams
    • This feature is for developers.
    • We have couple of new triggers available for Teams now
      1. When a new team member is added
      2. When a new channel message is added
      3. When I am mentioned in a channel

Lets test one of the trigger quickly say – “When I am mentioned in a channel”. Below are the steps :

  • Please give the Flow name
  • Please search for “teams” trigger in “Choose your flow’s trigger*” text box as shown in below fig
  • On search we will get all the triggers related to the Teams as shown in below fig
  • Select the trigger “When I am mentioned in a channel” as shown in below fig

  • Once we selected trigger, we will be on “Edit flow” screen as shown in below fig
  • We need to select the respective Team, in Team drop-down we have all the teams listed as shown in below fig
  • Here, I am selected “knowledgejunction1” team as

  • Once we have respective Team selected, all channels for the selected team will be listed in “Channel” drop-down as shown in below fig

  • After selecting channel, we could add any next step as we want
  • Here, I am sending email whenever I am mentioned in the given team so I added the action “Send an email notification (V3)” as shown in below fig

  • Now lets test this flow, one of my colleague mentioned me in Teams client in “KnowledgeJunction1” team and in “General” channel as

  • Power Automate executed and received the email as shown in below fig
