Hi All,

Greetings for the day 🙂 LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL 🙂  I hope we all are safe 🙂 STAY SAFE, STAY HEALTHY 🙂

Today again one new feature and small news 🙂

New Feature – I was going through message center and one message noticed – “Start Meet Now from Outlook desktop client (Windows)“. This means that “Meet Now” button is available in Outlook desktop client in the ribbon of the Calendar Tab for Windows as shown in below Fig

This change is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 68838

To use this feature user will

  • Need both – Teams desktop client and Outlook desktop client on Windows machine
  • Also have the Teams add-in enabled in Outlook

One more important point here is to have “Meet Now” button in Outlook desktop client for Windows – “AllowPrivateMeetNow” policy setting must set to True for Teams. We can check / update this setting from Microsoft Teams admin center

To verify / change the AllowPrivateMeetNow setting

Microsoft Teams admin center - Meetings

  • From left side blade navigate to “Meetings >> Meeting policies” as
Microsoft Teams admin center - Meetings >> Meeting policies

  • Navigate to “Global (Org-wide default)” policy
  • We will see / update setting – “Allow scheduling private meetings” as
Microsoft Teams - Meetings >> Meeting policies >> Global >> Allow scheduling private meetings

Clicking on “Meet Now” button will start the meeting in Teams client as
