Visual Studio 2022 preview

Greetings for the day 🙂 LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL 🙂

Today something about my favorite IDE – none other than Visual Studio 🙂 Recently Microsoft announced first preview release of Visual Studio 2022 . I am bit late to install it but lets enjoy it today.

Here, in this article I am sharing the installation steps for Visual studio 2022 preview

Important Note : Since this is not the “Go-Live” version of Visual Studio 2022, not intended to install on Production server

Before starting installation please have a look at detailed release notes – https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/releases/2022/release-notes-preview It includes – new features available in this release, previous issues addressed, known issues, features not included

Step By Step Installation :

• We will install Visual Studio 2022 preview community edition, please download from the above download link

• Once downloaded, please click on the respective executable – vs_community__1280725793.1624441218

• Just click on “Continue” as in above Fig, downloading and installation will start as in below Fig

• Select the features which you want to install. In my case I selected – ASP.NET and web development (one of the use case is custom M365 Governance implementation – for Teams, SharePoint site, External users), Python development – I keep experimenting – one of the my favorite language, Azure development (one of the use case is Azure Web Job development) and .NET desktop development
• From right side pane, we could select the sub features of specific feature. Like as shown in below fig I have selected few options from “Python development“

• Once features selected and continued downloading and installation will be started as shown in below fig

• Once installation is completed we need to reboot the machine

• After machine restart, lets begin real show 🙂
• Lets start Visual Studio, it will look like as shown in below fig – with new colors 🙂

• On successful start, it will ask us to login or we con continue without log in as well as in below fig

• For time being I’ll continue without log in
• On next screen we need to select – Development Settings as in below fig

• Also select the your favorite color for coding 🙂 and then click on “Start Visual Studio” button as shown in below Fig

• Once we clicked on “Start Visual Studio“, it will show following dialog as

• Once everything happens successfully, we could start our development 🙂
