1. Today we are celebrating 75 INDEPENDENCE DAY
2. We won our freedom on August 15, 1947
3. We have national holiday on this day
4. On 15 August 1947, our first Prime Minister of independent India Shri Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, hoisted the national flag at the Lahori Gate of Red Fort in New Delhi
5. On the same day, 15 August 1947, the Father of the Nation Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi fasted in Calcutta (now Kolkata).
6. On this day we remember the sacrifice of our freedom fighters. We celebrate this day with pride.
