Today new trick – Stop sharing an item or a file using Power Automate

Details

  • In one of my project, we need to make the item readonly so the demo

Demo

SharePoint List

  • For demo purpose we created simple list as

  • Lets check the permissions before stop sharing

Power Automate

  • Give the name to our flow and select the trigger , here in our case – “Manually trigger a flow

  • Add an action –Stop sharing an item or a file” as shown in below fig

  • Once action “Stop sharing an item of a file” added, specify the following details
    • Site address
    • List or Library name
    • Id – for demo purpose here we are passing hard-coded id 1. We can have actions like “Get Item” or “Get Items” and get dynamic ID

  • We are ready to test our flow
  • Since it is Instant cloud flow, we will test it manually
  • Ran the flow. Make sure flow ran successfully

  • Now check the permissions and sharing capabilities on the respective list item
