Azure Active Directory – New capability – Tenant Creation Control / Tenant Lockdown – New feature

Today one update regarding Azure AD – New feature
New Feature : Now we can control Tenant creation. We can lock down tenant creation for non admin users. Now it is possible either only “Global Administrator” or “Tenant Creator Role” can create Tenant
Details
- This new capability will provide admins with the ability to lock down tenant creation to decide whether they want their users to create more tenants.
- This means not allowing to create Tenant to non-admin users
- Previously users have ability to create Tenants
- New role – “Tenant Creator” also created – which will allow users assigned to this role to create new tenants
Updating the “Tenant creation” setting in Azure AD
- Navigate to “Azure AD admin center” – We have detailed article on how to navigate – Azure AD admin center – Azure Active Directory admin center – navigating to Azure Active Directory admin center
- Once we are in Azure AD admin center as
- From the left pane click on “Azure Active Directory” link, we will be navigating to “Overview” page of Azure AD admin center as
- From the left menu / blade – click on “User settings” link as shown in above fig
- We will be redirected to – “User settings” section as shown in below fig

- On “User settings” blade there is setting / option called – “Tenant creation“
- By default “Tenant creation” option is “No”
