Greetings for the day!!!

Today new small tip which I got to know and sharing.

In one of my last article related to SharePoint storage – Small Tips and Tricks – Microsoft 365 : SharePoint Online – Managing site storage limit – from SharePoint admin center we discussed how to manage the SharePoint storage. Today lets discuss new tip related to SharePoint online storage 🙂

How to know the total storage allocated and storage utilised for Tenant

  • From left blade of “SharePoint admin center“, navigate to “Active sites
  • We will be redirected to “ALL SITES” blade as shown in below figure
  • On “ALL SITES” blade, at top right corner we have total storage and available storage as shown in below fig
  • Here in my local tenant – KnowledgeJunction1 – total space allocated is – 1.24 TB and available also 1.24 TB

    Required Permissions to view / know the storage space

    • Global Administrator
    • SharePoint Administrator

    How much storage allocated to my organization by default

    • Total amount of Space allocated for my organization is based on default storage from Microsoft and number of licenses available in my Tenant plus if any extra space is purchased
    • Microsoft provides 1 TB storage by default per tenant and additional 10 GB per each license
    • For example in my local tenant I have 25 licenses allocated, so total storage allocated for my organization is
    1 TB + (25 * 10 GB) = 1.24 TB approximate
