Small Tips and Tricks – Microsoft 365 : SharePoint Online – Managing site storage limit – from SharePoint admin center

Greetings for the day!!!

Today knowing one small setting related to managing storage limit in SharePoint online

Background :

• In our organization we are automating the increasing storage quota for required site collection
• We can set / allocate storage quota for each site collection from the storage pool of tenant either automatically or manually
• So here discussing how to set / update the option to set the “Site storage limits” option either manually or automatically

Step to set the “Site storage limits” options either manually or automatically

• Navigate to SharePoint admin center – https://<tenant name>-admin.sharepoint.com/ – here I’ll use my development tenant – https://knowledgejunction1-admin.sharepoint.com/
• We have also detailed article to navigate to SharePoint admin center – Small Tips and Tricks – SharePoint admin center – How to navigate to SharePoint admin center
• As we navigate to SharePoint admin center, we will be on SharePoint admin center “Home” section as

• From left blade navigate to “Settings” section as shown in below figure

• From Settings section we have list of Settings as shown in below figure
• Click on Setting – “Site storage limit” as
• Right pane will open as shown in below figure
• “Automatic” is the default option for managing site collection level storage
• From right pane we can update the respective setting – we can set “Manual” option so that we can allocate the storage for site collection level
