Microsoft 365 – Power Automate – End of support for – List Flows as Admin action with the Power Automate Management connector – replaced with – List Flows as Admin (v2)
Hi All,
Greetings for the day!!! Today new news for Power Automate teams!!!
- There is update from Microsoft on Power Automate
- Update – “List Flows as Admin” action will not be supported for any more
- If we create a flow and search for “List Flows as Admin ” action we wont find it
- Instead of this action we will get new action “List Flows as Admin (V2)” as
- Support for “List Flows as Admin” action ended on Thursday, 15 June 2023
What action as Power Automate developer / architect / admin I need perform
- While implementing new Power Automate and if I need to use this action – I should go for new action – “List Flows as Admin (v2)“
- We should update our existing power automates – sharing steps below – How to know existing Power Automates which uses this deprecated “List Flows as Admin” action
- If we are using CoE Starter Kit please update to the latest release of the CoE Starter Kit
- PowerShell: The Get-AdminFlow PowerShell cmdlet has been updated in version 2.0.165. We can update Power Platform PowerShell cmdlets using Update-Module -Name “Microsoft.PowerApps.Administration.PowerShell“
Steps to know which my existing PowerAutomates include the deprecated action – “List Flows as Admin”
- We can create a Power Automate which will list the Power Automates which are using action – “List Flows as Admin“
- The “List flows as Admin” action has an operation ID of “ListFlowsInEnvironment”
- In our Power Automate call the “List Flows as Admin (V2)” action, iterate over those flows calling the “Get Flows as Admin” action for each, parse JSON on the “actions” result, and then look for a “swaggerOperationId” of “ListFlowsInEnvironment”.
What happen if my existing power automates are not getting updated
- Starting with August, Microsoft will force to change this action during runtime
- This will cause the calls to the backing API of List Flows as Admin to fail at runtime
- This will also impact the older PowerShell cmdlet versions, older Center of Excellence Starter Kit versions, and calls to the deprecated List flows as Admin action.
Why this change
- In new action there is performance improvements
- Since this new action only returns – the identifying information about the flow
