Update : Microsoft introduces two new SharePoint online list template with Approval app integration are available now
Details :
Microsoft introduced two new list templates with the Approval app integration.
With this change, Microsoft Lists templates, Travel Requests with approvals and Content Scheduler with approvals, will begin to leverage integration with the Approvals app in Microsoft Teams.

Lets see how it works – create one simple list.
We will use template “Travel requests with approvals“
As in below figure, go for the option to create – ” + New List“

We will create new list with respective template
Select template “Travel requests with approvals” under “From Microsoft” template as shown in below fig

As we select template – “Travel requests with approvals” , dialog will appear as in below fig
Have a look on details provided
Select / click on “Use template” button

As in above fig, as we click on “Use template” button, we will have dialog for
List name
Description
Site navigation

As we click on “Create” button, we will have list ready from the template – “Travel requests with approvals” as in below fig

Please notice the column this list have

Just added one item

Please notice the column “Approval status” as in below fig and initial status is – “Not submitted”

If we click on status value – “Request approval” dialog appears as shown in below fig
There we can assign approvers or update
We have setting – “Request a response from all approvers”

As we click on “Submit” button on “Request approval” dialog – please note the progress in right top corner of our list page – “Creating approval request” as shown in below fig

Once approval requested created successfully, value of “Approval status” column updated to “Requested” as in below fig

As approval request created successfully, approvers will get notified in Teams
Approvers can also go to respective list item, filter on “Approvers” column for self and check there all requests
If Approver click on value of “Approver Status” column – “Requested“, “Approval request details” dialog will appear as shown in below fig
In “Approval request details” can “Approve“, “Reject” and “Cancel request”

Approver will receive notification in Microsoft Teams as in below fig
From Microsoft Teams, approver can either “Approve” OR “Reject” the request

In Teams approval app, at bottom there are more actions like “Cancel request“, “Follow up” and “Reassign” as shown in below fig

As approvers either approve or reject the request, value for “Approval status” column changes as shown in below figure

As approver approves the request , “Approval status” value in list get updated as shown in below fig
