Microsoft 365 – Microsoft SharePoint Online: New Section Content Alignment Feature

Today sharing recently released new feature related to Sections on the SharePoint Online pages.

New Feature – Microsoft SharePoint: New Section Level Content Align on pages.

Details

• Microsoft SharePoint is introducing a new feature that allows authors to align content across columns at the top, center, or bottom of a section.
• Authors will be able to control their content alignment across adjacent columns to the top, center, or bottom of that section.
• This option is available for 2-column and 3-column sections. These alignment options are available in our section properties for 2-column and 3-column sections. 
• This will make it easier for all the columns in our section to be visually harmonious and reduce the need for the spacer webpart.

Demo

• Add new section on our SharePoint page – Either select – 2-column or 3-column option.

• Edit the newly added section, we will see “Alignment” option in section edit properties pane as in below figure.

• Currently we will have three alignment options
  • Top
  • Center
  • Bottom

• Example : If we will select an Alignment option “Center” and add new web part in section, we will see – we will get an option to add the web part in center of section as in below figure
