Microsoft 365 : Microsoft Forms – resolving error – “Your organization has not enabled Microsoft Forms for your current account”

Hi All,
Greetings for the day!
Today new issue and solution 🙂
Issue – When I was trying to Microsoft Forms with my global administrator account getting the below error
Your organization has not enabled Microsoft Forms for your current account
Please contact your administrator for access, or sign in with a different account and try again.

Cause
- I verified my license and I have valid license assigned.
- I have “Microsoft 365 E5 Developer” license assigned.
- My account is “Global Administrator“.
- Next I need to check if Microsoft Forms app is enabled or not for my account.
- And found that Microsoft Forms app is not enabled for my account.
Solution
- We need to enable Microsoft Forms app for my account.
- We can enable and disable any app for the user from Microsoft 365 admin center.
- Log in to Microsoft 365 admin center.
- We can navigate to Microsoft 365 admin center by couple of ways:
- From direct URL – https://admin.microsoft.com/#/homepage
- Through office 365 portal – https://portal.office.com
- We have detailed article to navigate to to Microsoft 365 admin center. Microsoft 365 – Navigating to Microsoft 365 admin center – https://knowledge-junction.in/2022/11/17/microsoft-365-navigating-to-microsoft-365-admin-center/
- Once we navigated to Microsoft 365 admin center we will be on “Home” of Microsoft 365 admin center as

- Next, we need to navigate to respective user to check the apps assigned.
- From left menu, click on “Users >> Active Users”

- As we click on “Active Users“, we will be redirected to “Active users” page. https://admin.microsoft.com/#/users
- From “Active Users” pages select the user for which we need to enable the “Microsoft Forms” app

- As we select the user, click on three dots and select the option – “Manage product licenses“.
- Right pane will open and we will be redirected to “Licenses and apps” tab as shown in image below.
- Here we could see, valid license “Microsoft 365 E5 Developer” is assigned to my account.

- Scroll down bit to view which apps are enabled / turned on or selected.

- It seems “Microsoft Forms (Plan E5)” app is not selected for my account. Please have a look at above image.
- I enabled the “Microsoft Forms (Plan E5)” app.

- Next, refreshed the Microsoft Forms page – https://forms.office.com and logged in with my account. It worked like charm 🙂
