Today, discussing new feature related Microsoft Outlook.

NEW FEATURE: Microsoft Outlook: Reset People suggestions.

Before this update – We were not able to reset suggested contacts. We also couldn’t export suggested contacts from Outlook on the Web and the new Outlook for Windows.

Details

  • What is “Reset People Suggestion feature in Microsoft Outlook“? This feature allows us to reset people suggestions in search. We can export these suggestions. It also lets us opt out through Outlook on the web and the new Outlook for Windows settings.
  • This update will sync with user’s Microsoft 365 My Account privacy settings.
  •  If we reset People Suggestions in Outlook on the web, all versions of Outlook will show that change. The same applies if we reset People Suggestions in Outlook for Windows. This includes Outlook Mobile.

How to “Reset People Suggestion feature in Microsoft Outlook”

  • Navigate to our Outlook either in app or in web.
  • We can also directly navigate to Outlook using link – https://outlook.office.com/mail/
  • Here, I am using Outlook web as shown in image below.

  • We will navigate to – Outlook Settings.
  • To navigate to Outlook settings, from top navigation, from right side, click on “gear” icon as shown in below image.
  • As we click on “gear” icon, “Settings” popup will.
  • From “Settings” popup, next we will navigate to “General Settings“.

  • From “General Settings“, we will navigate to “Privacy and data” section as shown in image below.

    • We click on “Privacy and data” link. The “Privacy and data” settings will open in the right pane as in the image below.
    • In “Privacy and data” right pane, we will have an option to “Clear data and turn off”

    • We can clear all data and turn of the suggestions setting by clicking on button “Clear data and turn off“.
    • We have also choice to opt for the suggestions again. Just click on “Activate expanded contacts suggestions” button as shown in below image.
