Microsoft Teams administration: Custom emojis and reactions settings in Teams admin center

Today sharing small learning about custom emojis and reaction settings in Teams admin center.

In this article we will discuss various settings available in Teams admin center related to custom emojis and reactions.

BackGround

• I was going through Teams new feature related to custom emojis and reactions.
• Now we can upload our own custom emojis and reactions to personalize the communication.
• This new custom emojis and reactions feature will be turned ON by default.
• We can turn this feature off via the Teams admin center.

Details – managing the feature – Turning on or off – uploading custom emojis and reactions

• We can manage the feature “Turning on or off – upload our custom emojis and reactions” from Teams admin center.
• We can turn the feature on/off for the whole tenant via the Messaging Settings page (ON by default).
• Navigate to Teams admin center.
• We navigate to Teams admin center
  • Either through direct link – https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/
  • OR from Microsoft 365 admin center

• As we navigate to “Microsoft Teams admin center“, from left pane we will go to “Settings” page – https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/one-policy/settings

• On “Settings & policies” page, we will scroll down to go to “Messaging” settings as

• Click on “Messaging” link as shown in above image.
• We will be redirected to “Messaging settings” page https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/one-policy/settings/messaging

• On “Messaging settings” page we have choice to turn ON / OFF the to – “Upload custom emojis“.
• We have an also choice to turn ON / OFF the setting for – “Deleting custom emojis” as shown in below image
