On Microsoft 365 junction we will keep exploring Copilot and features.

In this article, we will discuss bit about SharePoint Agents.

• What are the limitations of SharePoint agent

What is Copilot?

• Copilot is our AI assistant tool.
• Copilots aims to enhance our Productivity, Creativity, Data accessibility.
• Copilot help us to become more productive by assisting us in our daily tasks like
  • Email summarizing
  • Preparing summary from the documents
  • Assisting to improve our writings
  • Creating files / documents
  • Creating presentations
• Copilot is powered by LLMs.
• We have Copilot app in Microsoft 365 – Microsoft 365 Copilot.

• Copilot provides a natural language conversational interface to interact with data, create automation, build applications, and even assist with coding tasks

• The core value of Copilot stems
  • from its ability to interpret natural language commands,
  • enhancing the user experience by making it more intuitive and user-friendly.

What are Copilot agents?

• AI agents are systems that enable Copilots to perform specific, repeatable actions by extending their capabilities by giving LLMs access to tools and knowledge

Microsoft 365 Copilot

• Copilot for Microsoft 365 is an AI-powered productivity tool.
• Copilot uses Large Language Models (LLMs) and integrates our data with the Microsoft Graph and Microsoft 365 apps and services.
• Copilot uses content in Microsoft Graph, like emails, chats, and documents that users have permission to access.
• Copilot works alongside popular Microsoft 365 apps like Power Automate, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more.

Core components of Microsoft 365 copilot

• Large language models
• Natural language processing
• Microsoft Graph
• Microsoft 365 apps
• Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat

What is SharePoint Agent?

• SharePoint agents are AI-powered assistants that we interact with using natural language.
• These agents support us and team with our workflows, projects, content discovery and knowledge sharing, grounded on the content in SharePoint sites, pages, and selected files
• With edit permissions to the site, SharePoint users can create agents.
• These agents grounded on selected files or folders to get more specific answers tailored to our specific purpose, project, or task
• All SharePoint sites come with a ready-to-use agent based on that site’s content.

Who can create SharePoint Agent? Which roles of SharePoint site can create Agents on SharePoint site?

• Site Owner
• Site Collection Administrators
• User with Edit permission on the site like Site Members.

SharePoint Agent Limitations

• Currently only allowing 20 sources. This means only 20 SharePoint sites are allowed.
• Support for the following file formats currently not available, is coming soon: 
  • – Images
  • – Meeting recordings and other videos
  • – OneNote notebooks
• Agents currently don’t use data from Lists.
• No Data from Lists or Site Pages Library:
• We can’t add pages from the Site Pages library as source for an agent.
• Agents currently do not use data from lists or pages from the Site Pages library as sources
