What is Copilot Notebook?

Why to use Copilot Notebook?
- Gather our content: Bring together all our Copilot chats, Microsoft 365 files, pages, meeting notes, and more into a notebook.
- We can add a wider range of reference materials to a Notebook, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files, OneNote pages, PDFs, Copilot Pages
- Get answers: We can ask questions and Copilot can analyze notebook content to find answers, identify key themes, and draw insights.
- Draft smarter: Draft something new with Copilot based on the content in our notebook.
- Collaborate in real time: Co-create with your team and Copilot using shared content.
- Intelligent suggestions: Automatically recommends relevant files based on the notebook’s title or theme.
- Audio overview: Ability to generate summaries of notebook content for quick consumption.
License requirement for Copilot Notebook
- A Microsoft 365 Copilot license
- Additionally, accounts must have a SharePoint or OneDrive license (service plan) in order to create notebooks.
- Copilot Notebooks is also available for Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, and Premium subscribers.
How to start with Copilot Notebooks – High-level workflow of Copilot Notebooks
- Access Copilot Notebook: We can access Copilot Notebook either from
- https://m365.cloud.microsoft/notebooks
- OneNote windows app
- Microsoft 365 copilot app
- Create a new notebook: Once we are in Copilot Notebook, we can start using by creating ‘New Notebook’.
- Add Content / References: Once Notebook is created, start adding references such as Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoint decks, and Excel sheets.
- Ask Copilot questions about the content in your notebook.
What file formats are supported by Copilot Notebook?
Copilot Notebooks supports the following file formats:
- .docx
- .pptx
- .xlsx
- .page
- .loop
- OneNote pages
