In this article I will tell you about Oil paints and difference between β€œOil paint and Acrylic paint”.

At first glance Acrylic and Oil painting may seems alike, but this is not the case. Non-painters will usually have a hard time distinguishing between acrylic and oil paints. Although, I also believe that acrylic paint is much more suitable for beginners because it dries very quickly, and they get result faster in less sittings. I suggest that you experiment with both acrylic and oil paints to figure out what you like best. The tools, techniques and principles of painting are the same for both oil and acrylic paints, except paint.
Oil paints are made of ground pigments suspended in a drying oil (like linseed). As we know, oil and water don’t mix! Oil paints must be thinned and cleaned with oil-based products or solvents.

If you are doing landscape, portrait or figure painting, oil paint possibly will work best for you. Acrylic is great for abstract and graphic work. It is used by many contemporary artists.

Always keep in mind that drying time most influencing aspects of painting. Mixing acrylics is more difficult than mixing oils, simply because the acrylics are already beginning to dry.
