M365 – SharePoint Online – Update for Jan 2020 month – Next Steps panel (In-service help) update for Team Sites

Hi All,

I hope going great weekend to everyone 🙂 MS making more interesting by adding/updating new interesting features continuously to M365 🙂

Today I will discuss one of the new update for Team Sites released in Jan 2020. Its update to “Next steps” (SharePoint in-service help) panel which appears at right top corner of our SharePoint site as

When we click on “Next steps” icon, “Next steps” panel appears which shows various actions as

As in above Fig2, in “Next steps” panel following three actions are shown:

• Upload files – When we click on link “Upload documents”, we will be redirected to default document library to upload the documents
• Invite team members – From here we could add new members
• Post news – Option to create the new news post. When we click on “Create a new post”, “Pages” panel appears where we can choose the Template and create the news post.

Here, important point is all these actions are suggested based on usage of site and what other team members are doing, really interesting no 🙂
