Microsoft Teams : Important update for Android Teams App – Issue resolved related to impacting emergency calling

Today sharing very small but important update related to Microsoft Teams Android App

Important Update : Microsoft Teams app for Android update is now available to help users with an Android OS issue which may impact emergency calling

Background :

• Recently there were an issue while emergency calling from Microsoft Teams Android app
• Microsoft looked into the issue and found that this seems to be because – unintended interaction between Teams app and Android operating system when user is not logged in
• Microsoft working along with Google now resolved this issue
• Microsoft have released an update to the Teams app, which is now available to all Android users, that keeps the app from triggering the underlying issue in the Android operating system.
• Google also plans to roll-out an Android operating system update in January.

The updated Teams app (1416/1.0.0.2021194504) is available now via the Google Play Store

Note : this may require user action if app auto-updates are not enabled. This teams app need to be updated by 20 Dec 2021
