Today issue and solution – lesson learned
Background
- I use Microsoft 365 Outlook, to send the mails and other communication.
- While sending new I am getting Delivery failed mail from 2 to 3 days.
- I tried in the possible ways to resolve it by removing and adding the Outlook License in Active Azure Directory to my account.
- Also checked any permissions needed for mails from the recipient side, but my mails are not getting delivered.
- But I found a solution and it works for me to rectify the issue, and sharing the solution here.
Issue / Error
Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:
Receiver mail address xxxxxxxxxxx
Your message wasn’t delivered because the recipient’s email provider rejected it.

Details
- In our company we use Microsoft 365 Outlook for email communication.
- If someone send me an emails, my Outlook receiving the emails.
- But when I am replaying / forward / sending new emails to somebody, the mail were getting underlived.

Cause
In Microsoft 365 Outlook, for Sending All New Emails need to set the Default Email Account and check it always use the Default Email Account.
Solution
- Login to Microsoft 365 Outlook with desktop app.
- In Outlook, click on File.

- Now choose the Outlook Options.

- In Options, click on Mail.
- In Mail, scroll down for Send messages.
- Under Send messages, check the box Always use the default account when composing new messages..

- Click on OK.
