Today I learned new tip so sharing.

Tip : How to enable Public Preview for Microsoft Teams

Details / Background

  • I saw one message in Microsoft Message center related to Microsoft Teams – Get Adobe PDF experience in Microsoft Teams
  • But then this feature will be currently available in only “public preview
  • So prerequisite is to have “public preview” enabled then only I can test this
  • As my curiosity to test , thought to enable “public preview
  • But as I don’t know how to enable “public preview” for teams, this article born 🙂
  • Most of articles / Microsoft says this “public preview” setting is under “Settings >> About us >> Public Preview” but for me its not there

How to Enable Public Preview for Teams

  • From Microsoft Teams admin center dashboard, we will navigate to – Teams update policiesupdatemanagement policies page

  • As in above fig, we have “Global (Org-wide default)” policy having “Preview features” – “Follow Office Preview
  • Click on “Global” policy to edit it – we can create new policy as well if do not want to edit organization wide policy
  • On click of “Global” policy, right pane will open as in below fig, here we can enable “public preview” feature

  • Select the “Enabled” option from “Show preview features” drop-down and click on “Apply” button at bottom
  • We will have “Changes will take time to take effect“, please click on “Confirm” button to effect the changes

  • Now we can either go to Teams desktop client or Teams web client and check the settings
