Facebook – How to enable two-factor authentication

Greetings for the day!!!
Security implementation continues. Today we will discuss how to set up two-factor authentication on Facebook
Background
- Recently one of friend called me and said that he received a message from my facebook messenger
- Message is inappropriate so he called me
- But I didnt sent any message and then got to know that my FB account is hacked
- Immediately messaged all my contacts and updated that my FB account is hacked so dont entertain any message from my account
- For precaution I deleted my FB account
- After few days activated again and then implemented extra layer of security, turned on – Two-factor authentication for FB
Details / Steps – to enable Two-factor authentication for Facebook
- Log in to Facebook
- Click on right side profile icon – menu will appear as
- Click on “Settings & privacy” link , one more sub menu with links will appear as
- On click of “Settings” we will be redirecting to “Settings” page – https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=profile
- From left pane click on “Security and login” link , we will be redirected to “security” tab – https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=security as
- On “security” tab of settings page we option for enabling / disabling the “Two-factor authentication” as shown in above figure
- Click on “Edit” button in right side, we will be redirected to 2fac settings page – https://www.facebook.com/security/2fac/settings/
- From 2fac settings page we have various options available
- Turn on / Turn off Two-factor authentication
- Setting up of “Security method” – Text message on Phone or Authentication app
- We can have backup method as well – Security key or Recovery codes
