Major Update – SharePoint Designer 2013 reaches end of support on July 14, 2026 – Action required by Jul 14, 2026

Greetings

Today sharing one of the MAJOR UPDATE related to SharePoint Designer 2013. Microsoft will end support for SharePoint Designer 2013.

Details

  • Microsoft is retiring SharePoint Designer 2013 on July 14, 2026.
  • Microsoft will no longer provide support, security updates, or fixes for SharePoint designer 2013
  • Workflows developed with SharePoint designer 2013 need to migrate to Power Automate
  • The SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT) can migrate supported workflow actions to Power Automate.

What preparation we need to do

  • Enlist all SharePoint designer 2013 workflows in case we are using
  • Plan for the migration of SharePoint designer 2013 workflows
  • Use / Explore SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT) for migrating the workflows to Power Automate
  • Update the documentation if required
