Certifications – O365 exams are retiring. New role based exams. M365 certifications.

Hi All,

I am starting preparation for my new certification for M365 – MS-900 (Microsoft 365 Fundamentals). But before that will like to share few things regarding O365 and M365 certification. I am targeting now M365 to advance my skills more technically and seems to be future now 🙂

What is M365 – Microsoft 365?

M365 = Windows 10 + Office 365 + Enterprise Mobility & Security – as a one subscription.

I must believe now, all we Office 365 developers should also think about upgrading to M365. It may be possible that now many organizations will extend their O365 license to M 365.

Being technical uptodate in this area will be definitely very useful and certifications are most important key factor 🙂

O365 exams are retiring:

O365 exams 70-346 and 70-347 are retiring on April 30, 2019. So now may be there is no better time for preparing this.

Please note, SharePoint 2013 / Dynamic 365 / few of Azure exams and other exams are also retiring – please have a look at –

So its time to focus on new job role based certifications for M65 certifications (Good choice for O365 developers.)

New role based exams are announced:

In Ignite 2018, Microsoft launched the new job role based certifications and trainings. Added few references in References section. Here Microsoft trying to focus from product knowledge to skills based approach based on job roles.

These role based exams are more towards now carrier growth, more job oriented exams.
