Microsoft 365 – Major Update – Viva Goals Retirement Announcement – December 31, 2025

Today sharing MAJOR UPDATE related to Viva Goals.

MAJOR UPDATE – Viva Goals will be retired on December 31, 2025.

DETAILS

• Viva Goals will be retired on December 31, 2025.
• Microsoft will continue to keep Viva Goals’ availability, accessibility and security through retirement.
• As of December 5, 2024, Microsoft will no longer invest in new feature development.
• Microsoft will continue to offer product support till December 31, 2025.
  • This support includes maintenance, troubleshooting, and user assistance to make sure a smooth transition period for all customers.
• If our organization or company using Viva Goals, we will get message in Message Center.
• Integration between Viva Goals and other tools (for example, Teams, Azure DevOps) will stay functional until December 31, 2025. After that, these integration will cease to work.

Action our organization / company needs to take

• To prevent auto-renewal beyond the product’s retirement date, an admin should turn off recurring billing in the Microsoft Admin Center.
• If our subscription extends beyond the product’s retirement date, please contact your Microsoft representative. If we have questions or need help with your service plan, you may also contact GoalsDecom@microsoft.com.
• If you have a technical question, please send a support case in the Microsoft 365 admin center. 
• Please inform users about this change, update relevant documentation as appropriate.
• Data migration options: Viva Goals offers data export features via API, Excel, and PowerPoint. This allows users to move their data to a solution of their choice. we recommend that users export their data before December 31, 2025.

NOTE: Microsoft won’t be replacing Viva Goals or integrating its functionality into other products. Existing customers will have until December 31, 2025, or until their licenses expire, to transition to another solution.
