SharePoint administration : Feature update – Document Library updates – performance improvements and enhancements to the functionality of Edit in grid view
Today, I’m excited to share some of the latest updates to Document Libraries. These updates include performance improvements and enhancements to the functionality of the “Edit in grid view” feature in document libraries.
Prerequisites
Document library with below column types
column of type Image
column of type Choice
column of type Person or Group

Improvements
Pages in document libraries will load faster.
Better scrolling with large libraries: Users can scroll down and see everything if there are more than 100 documents. They don’t need to go to the next page.
Details pane in grid view: Open the details pane in grid view

Choice field editing: Select or change values in Choice columns in grid view.

Person field and Group field editing: We can assign users or groups to a file by selecting the Person field in grid view

Image field editing: We can add or change images in the grid, like the similar feature in Microsoft Lists.

Properties pane appears in dialog

Grouped view support while editing in grid view: We can edit items in grid view even when the library is grouped by specific columns
