M365 – SharePoint Online – New Feature: Audience targeting is enabled for hub navigation

Hi All,

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL 🙂 I hope we all are safe:) STAY SAFE, STAY HEALTHY 🙂 STAY HOME 🙂

Again today is with very good news 🙂 for Content editors / Developers life become bit easier now.

Audience targeting is enabled for hub navigation 🙂 I could now see the option in my local tenant as

M365 - SharePoint Online - Audience Targeting feature is enabled for Site Navigation

So, I enabled the setting – “Enable site navigation audience targeting“.

Once we enabled this setting we have an option available to add the group which we want to set the permissions for respective navigation items as

M365 - SharePoint Online - Audience Targeting for the navigation item
Fig3: M365 – SharePoint Online – Audience Targeting for the navigation item

Here, Audience targeting option is only allows to add “group” and not the individual users.

In above Fig4, for link “Personal Links” set the audience targeting group – “Company Administrator”. This worked like charm 🙂

When other user logged in who is not part of group “Company Administrator” group, “Personal Links” navigation item is not visible as

M365 - SharePoint Online - Audience Targeting for the navigation item - Adding Group

There is no “Personal Link” navigation item visible for the logged in user.

This feature is rolling out by tenant wide so might be the case that this feature wont visible today but will be rolled out soon.

Thanks for reading 🙂 If its worth at least reading once, kindly please like and share. SHARING IS CARING 🙂

Enjoy beautiful life 🙂 Have a FUN 🙂 HAVE A SAFE LIFE 🙂 TAKE CARE 🙂
