M365 / SharePoint online – new feature – SharePoint Events web part will display event images – small consulting opportunity for SharePoint consultants :)

Today new feature of SharePoint online. Seems to be interesting so thought to share

Feature : SharePoint Events web part will display event images

Details :

• In March, Microsoft announced new feature – giving an option to show the event images in Event web part
• But then timeline for this feature is extended
• Now Event web part has configurable property – “Show event images” as shown in below Fig

• When we add event – Event.aspx page has an option to have the picture as shown

• When we turned off the property – “show event images“, web part shows the events as follows

• If we turn on the Event web part property as, it shows the events with images as shown in below figures

Roll out plan :

• For Targeted releases, already completed in late March
• Late August for Standard releases

Note : Existing web parts will not be affected
