Microsoft 365 – SharePoint online – How to verify any User / Group permissions on given site from UI

Greetings for the day!!! Continuing Microsoft 365 tutorial – today new chapter. How to check user permissions from UI

Details / Steps

• Go to the site for which you need to check permissions of respective user
  • Here, I am navigating to site from my local development environment – https://knowledgejunction1.sharepoint.com/sites/sitewithpowershell
• On top right corner – have a look at “Gear” icon as in below figure

• Click on “Gear” icon
• As we click on “Gear” icon “Settings” right pane opens as shown in below fig

• Next we click on “Site permissions” link
• “Permissions” right pane will open / appear as shown in below fig

• From “Permissions” right pane, click on last link – “Advanced permissions settings” as shown in above fig
• On click of “Advanced permissions settings” we will be redirected to the permissions page (/_layouts/15/User.aspx)

• On “Permissions” page, we have 2 tabs
  • BROWSER
  • PERMISSIONS
• Under “PERMISSIONS” tab we have “Check Permissions” option
• On click of “Check Permissions” ribbon button we will have “Check Permissions” dialog in which we can specify either user or group of which we need to check the permissions

• Here, I am verifying the permission of user – Prasham Sabadra

• Select the User / Group and click on “Check Now” button from “Check Permissions” dialog as
