In this article we will move ahead and will discuss Boards and its features bit. In upcoming articles we will discuss every features in depth.

What is Azure Boards? Azure Boards is the interface which allows us to manage our

  • Work items (Epic, Tasks, Issues / bugs)
  • Boards
  • Backlogs
  • Sprints
  • Queries

These are core features of Azure Boards. Lets discuss these features shortly here and in depth in upcoming separate articles.

  • Work items (Epic, Tasks, Issues / bugs)
    • All work in Azure Boards is managed through Work items
    • In work items we add the tasks / issues / epics
    • Each work item has states (New, Active, Closed and so on) to track the progress

  • Boards
    • Each project have per-configured Kanban board
    • We could very easily customize board
    • Boards support card customization, conditional formatting, filtering and so on

  • Backlogs
    • Planning tool
    • Allows us to create User stories, product backlogs, requirements
    • We could add details, descriptions, priorities and estimates
    • Easy assignments of respective product backlogs to the team members
    • Group backlog items

  • Sprints
    • Sprint comes with Taskboard, Backlogs, Capacity and Analysis tools
    • Allow to create new work items
    • These tool helps to implement scrum practices
    • We can monitor our burndown

  • Queries
    • One of the most powerful feature
    • Its very simple to create queries and pin them to dashboard.
    • For example, I’ll just create query to see my tasks
